Me and my Big Blue Cancer Bag are going to a new hospital tomorrow. Not a Medi-Cal Hospital where you have to go through bag searches and walk through metal detectors and body searches on your way to wait 2 hours past your appointment til you're seen by a different Doctor every time you show up. Although I got lucky and saw the same Dr 3 times in a row. She even remembered my name. I am told that I I might be seen in an hour. I hold my Cancer Bag tight, though. It is filled with pathology reports, the old meds that probably fueled the fire that turned into cancer, Stephen King Novels, Word Find Books, Crappy Granola Bars (not a lot of food options on an oncology ward), water and hilarious hope. I carry my bag with me tomorrow, though it may be frayed, ugly and distressed, holding every part of my journey in its threads. I suppose it's my Linus's Blanket. If I hold it close maybe it will keep keeping me ok. Never know what a new Dr will stumble across. I finally got proper insurance and it's a Brave New World. Me and My Blue Bag. We can do this thing.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
